Empower Newsletter October 2004 Printable Version Empower-HR Clients Grow by 25% in Past Year The number of organisations using the Empower-HR solution has increased by 25 per cent during the past 12 months. More than 20 organisations have started using Empower's integrated Payroll & HR software, either as an in-house solution or as an online service delivered using the ASP (Application Service Provider) model. Collectively, these new clients employ many thousands of Australian workers. Two of the largest new clients are the Catholic Education Office in Wollongong , which employs 1500 people, and the Catholic Education Office in Wagga Wagga, which has a 1200-strong payroll. Both organisations have purchased the in-house Empower-HR solution. Another significant new user of Empower-HR is Australia Post Logistics, which has 300 employees in Victoria , NSW and Queensland . As well as traditional business activities, APL is Australia 's sole distributor for the Microsoft Xbox gaming platform. The Australia Post Logistics deployment of the Empower-HR ASP service represents the first fruit from Empower's recent strategic partnership with Australia Post. News agency Reuters Australia has outsourced its entire payroll office to Empower, which since August 2004 has provided payroll processing and handled Help Desk inquiries for Reuters. Empower has also seen many of users of the Masterpay bureau service choose to upgrade their payroll systems to the Empower-HR ASP model. Organisations include Tasman Industries; Makita; Crown Casino; Aerospace Engineering; Land Management Corporation; and Kelly & Co Lawyers. Version 7 Delivers “Interfacelift” to Empower-HRThe latest release of the Empower-HR software, Version 7, provides a compelling set of enhancements and extended functionality including a refreshed “look and feel”. The “interfacelift” for Empower-HR V7 includes a visual redesign to make the software even easier to use. The new “look and feel” includes an optional Tree Menu, a 3D look for data entry fields and highlights for fields with Look Up Windows. The redesign also provides tabs to simplify navigation, drop down lists for employee information screens and a new-look Business Process screen. Ease-of-use features in V7 include payment instructions that can now be date-effective, spreadsheet input into Ad-hoc Pay and the facility for individual users to add additional menu items onto the Empower-HR Menu. Other user-friendly features include a User Defined Colour Palette and a new Reporting Desktop that allows users to build their own menu to run standard or Crystal reports through Empower-HR. New CEO for Empower: Alan Relishes Revitalising RoleAustralian Human Resource software specialist Empower Masterpay has appointed senior executive Alan Greig to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Alan, 55, takes the reins at Empower Masterpay after more than 20 years working in the enterprise software industry. His most recent role was as the CEO of Stock Exchange-listed enterprise software company, Prophecy International.
