HUMAN
resources software is the ‘chronic underachiever' of the IT sector,
Empower Masterpay's new chief executive Alan Greig says.
Technology
has improved financial and physical assets management, he says,
but is has not delivered similar benefits for people management.
He
is out to change that. ‘HR has been very good at recording information,
but not very good at supplying it' Greig says.
‘The
time is now ripe for HR software to move forward from passively
storing records to proactively supplying information that helps
the organisation achieve its business goals'.
Greig,
55, is experienced, having founded and run his own software business,
and being chief executive at ASX-listed software developer Prophecy
International.
Empower
Masterpay, of Adelaide, is an Australian company specialising
in functionally rich software systems for managing human resources.
Clients
include Penrith City Council, the Tasmanian government, Just Jeans,
RM Williams, Sun Microsystems and Pan Pacific Hotels Asia.
