Australian workforce planning expert Julie Sloan will outline the impact of the looming “Crunch Time” – when workforce exits will exceed entries – in a powerful keynote presentation for this year’s Empower-HR National User Conference.
Ms. Sloan’s presentation will spell out why businesses need good quality and systematic workforce planning by 2009 to cope with the impact, which will be felt strongly from 2011.


Appreciative Inquiry – A methodology for accelerated change

Dayle O’Brien, who will address the topic of Appreciative Inquiry – A methodology for accelerated change. Dayle is an Organisational Development and Change consultant who specialises in the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) approach. AI is a particular way of asking questions and envisioning the future that fosters positive relationships and builds on the basic goodness in a person, a situation, or an organization


Deployment of Self-Service in a large organisation

Sharon England, Manager Information Systems at the Department of Education, Tasmania, will outline how the Department of Education is commencing roll out of ESS to 17,000+ employees across 515 work units. This session will give you an insight into the issues DoE has faced during the consultation, pilot and now first stage of deployment.

Self-Service deployment in a retail environment:

The business case, the approach, the challenges, the benefits and the outcomes.
Drake Foodmarkets HR Manager Leanne Fraser and Payroll Manager Jane Washington will provide a case study about how the retailer rolled out Self-Service to 3000+ employees/managers across SA and Queensland using a paperless office and kiosk model. The session will also look at the change management and training aspects.


As well as outlining how customers will benefit from Empower becoming part of the Jade group of companies, the conference will also Kick Start Empower-HR State User Groups, including the desired objectives, benefits and support network.
